The Campaign For Real Humour

(I'm English, and flat out refuse to leave out the "U".)

In the words of Our Glorious Leader:

Friends, Ermas, Countrymen - lend me your ears. Ew. Nevermind.
An Army of Ermas is gearing up for the upcoming United States presidential election and looking at the crop of candidates we have to choose from so far, we're going to need as much humor as we can get. Thus, the Campaign for Real Humor has begun.
In the next year, your favorite Ermas will be competing for your votes with their posts. It's up to you to vote by liking a post on facebook, linking on websites, leaving comments on their posts, RTing on Twitter and Stumbling your favorites. Who will emerge the victor? Your vote counts!
We'll be kissing babies, and stumping for votes at the upcoming Erma Bombeck Writing Workshop in April, 2012. Come out and say howdy! Most of us don't bite.

My version:

When the vote begins, you will vote for me.
Or else.

The basic premise is that we're all humoUr writers, and we enjoy what we do. We want to make people laugh. Also, we're a little competitive, and want people to shower us with prizes (there ARE prizes, right, Stacey?).

So, be sure to click the pic and take a look at the site. On there you will find links to all my fellow Ermas' sites, as well as the odd funny post. Cos' that's whut we do.

I don't know when it will begin, but you will. So, let me know, k?

An Army of Stacey-fans

There is a place on the internet where people like me can go and be accepted without reserve, despite my nutty behaviour. No, I'm not referring to the local mental health clinic's forum (though they are awesome. Wibble.). The place I'm referring to is An Army Of Ermas, run by the fearless nutcase, Stacey Graham.

Stacey has been working tirelessly since the Ermas' inception to keep the place running smoothly. Not only does she maintain the site, she also proofreads every article, finds suitable images, answers any question the contributors may have, AND puts up with our lunacy without so much as a restraining order. Uh, except that one time, but that was unrelated.

Anyway. As thanks, the darling Beth Bartlett arranged An Army of Ermas Day. A good chunk of the contributors to the site are posting about the site and Stacey, and we're all doing it today, unbeknownst to Ms. Graham. Be sure to check out the links at the bottom of this post to see the other posts!

I first started with the Ermas after a call was put out for a couple of guest spots on the site for Christmas. I decided to give it a shot, having missed the previous call through laziness, and penned this post. Shortly after I submitted it, Stacey asked me to come aboard.

I said yes, in case you weren't paying attention.

I've since posted four or five articles, and will be posting many more, and Stacey has been nothing short of awesome the whole durned time. She's fast, hard-workin', and one of the funniest women I've ever met (and I've met many). I couldn't ask for a better boss and I love that I get to call her a friend, too.

Right, enough of that sappiness. Here're the other Ermas' links I mentioned:

Tricia Gillespie
Terri Lynn Coop
Angie Mansfield
The Hoo
Patti Wigington
Janna Qualman
Jason Tudor
Sarah Garb
Harley May
Amy Mullis
Sara Spock Carlson
Pauline Campos

(Will add more as they appear)

Aaaaand here's the Ermas link again. At least go and look at this one. ;-)
